well, got home for lunch to find the little darlings had found a good way to pass the time this morning! I decided to wash the covers to my couch cushions last night because my Dad is coming to visit and I wanted to get the house all nice and tidy for him. I even swept the living room floor this morning. I guess the bostons like the 'lived in' look a bit better. wow...they do keep me busy!
Life returns to normal now that the babies are gone. We took Molly and Chai on an excursion to Dry Island Buffalo Jump Park and they had a fantastic time exploring and smelling deer poop (yuck). Molly was so tired after, she just slept for about 4 hrs straight! I was really worried because it was so windy and there are so many cliffs, but they did great and explored while staying away from the cliffs. Every now and then, the weather cooperates and there is a short time where its nice enough outside to take the babies out for some serious play! They ran and ran and ran, and played non stop for almost an hour! So many things to see and do and smell. They came back in just exhausted and had a crazy long nap This is the age when getting good photos becomes a real challenge, as the puppies move SO fast and never stay in one place for more than a second. You get the perfect shot or pose and when you see the picture, its just a blur of motion. The babies are big enough now to come out of the pen and run amok in the kitchen and oh man, do they LOVE it! So much to see and do and smell. The adults like to start teaching them how to be proper bostons (trouble makers really!) by show them the "ropes" of tug o war and rough play. Molly showed amazingly well and I am proud to say, she is now a Canadian Champion! What a beautiful girl hey? Bart did extremely well too and we were very proud of him as well, although he did not come away with any points, he sure showed well and is doing great. What a handsome young man! Hard to believe he is already 8 months old. His Mom and Dad have done wonders with him with training and he is just an amazing sweet boy. Thanks to Chelsea and Irene for all of your hard work with my pups! Chai's little ones are growing rapidly and are going to need a much bigger pen soon so they can stretch their legs and play. They are doing just great with weaning and are eating well on their own now, although Chai is still nursing often too. The personalities are really starting to come out and they are asking for attention all the time now. We had a wonderful weekend in Camrose at the Battle River dog show. This is a picture of Bart waiting ringside for his chance to strut. This was his first weekend out and he looked great and took it all in stride. Molly did great as well, taking best of opposite on Saturday. The picture above was taken at 7 in the morning on the way to Camrose from Stettler. I dont know if I have ever seen a more beautiful sunrise! The picture below is of Bart resting his weary head on his gorgeous new bed after a long day of looking handsome! Nearly four weeks old and starting to become little dogs! They get sooooo cute at this age. They start to ask for attention and play with each other. Chai and Max have a beautiful litter! These babies are so chunky and sweet. They have lovely soft coats! Its hard to stop petting them once you start. And they love being held and stroked and cuddled. Chai is doing great. She is enjoying being a mom and is still so attentive, although Molly loves to help out and makes for a great babysitter. Whenever there are babies that arent hers, she becomes a bit jealous and sneaks in to play "mom" to them whenever she gets the chance. Chai is doing a wonderful job as mom and her chubby babies are getting a bit more active. Now that eyes are all open, they are beginning to show recognition of people. I absolutely love it when they look at you and actually SEE you. They give you this intense stare with so much focus, as if to say "what are you?" |
